Frequently Asked Questions

Alinghi is a full service property, below are some usual questions
but contact us if you have any other queries or requests

Is Alinghi suitable for families with kids?

Absolutely! Alinghi is perfect for both children and adults alike. There are some areas where children do need to be supervised such as the pool and beach but our Caretakers will go through this with you on arrival. You may be requested to sign a Disclaimer if there are children under the age of 8 in your group.

Does the property have baby facilities such as a cot & high chair?

The property does not carry these items as they do vary according to height and weight and age of the child. However they can be hired locally at an extra cost.

Can the Master Bedroom Pavilion be rented on its own?

All cooking and dining facilities are in the Main Pavilion so the Master Bedroom Pavilion can only be rented in addition to the Main Pavilion.

Is there a BBQ at the property?

Alinghi does have a gas BBQ and there is also a BBQ and dining/entertaining area at the poolside cabana which are part of the estate facilities.

Does Alinghi have a private pool?

Alinghi does not have a private pool but the Estate does have a fantastic 30 metre saltwater swimming pool by the BBQ cabana, a few minutes walk away.

Do guests need to bring linen and other supplies?

The house comes fully equipped with everything you may need including all linen, beach towels and tennis racquets. The kitchen has basic pantry cupboard supplies such as tea, coffee, sugar, etc. but guests will need to organise their own food supplies. Our caretakers can arrange your personal shopping prior to your arrival (an additional charge will apply).

Can you organise a private chef?

This does depend on availability. Chefs come and go all the time, so it does depend on who is available at the time.

Can Alinghi be booked for special celebrations such as Weddings?

Unfortunately Alinghi cannot be booked for parties, weddings, Hen or Stag celebrations or schoolies breaks.

Is there mobile phone coverage?

As Alinghi is so wonderfully remote, unfortunately mobile coverage is intermittent. We have installed a Telstra antenna/booster on the roof of the house and Telstra can be picked up most times when at the house, but generally not Optus or Vodafone. We do have wifi throughout Alinghi so internet based phone applications (such as Skype, Viber, Whatsapp etc) can be used.

Is there internet?

Yes Alinghi has complimentary wifi throughout the property.

Do you have cable TV?

Yes Foxtel is available.

Do you have Netflix?

There is APPLE TV available so as long as you have a Netflix account you can watch all your favourite shows.

What sort of audio /music facilities do you have?

There is a DVD player connected to the SONOS system. We also have an IPOD docking station and speaker. You can connect to your music through the Alinghi iPad.

Is Alinghi suitable for the elderly?

That depends on the level of fitness.  All bedrooms in the Main Pavilion are on the 1st floor but the Master Bedroom Pavilion is at ground level across the terrace from the Main Pavilion.

Can I invite my friends over to Alinghi and the Rocky Point Estate?

If you would like to invite a couple of friends over for a meal that is absolutely fine. However no external guests can use the Estate facilities. Only guests who have been checked in at Alinghi can stay overnight. If you have any queries, please check with us first.

Are pets allowed at Alinghi?

Unfortunately we have a very strict NO PETS policy at Alinghi. The estate is a haven for abundant native wildlife including nesting turtles and several species of wallabies / kangaroos.

Do I need to have my own car or can you arrange transport?

We do recommend you hire a car at the airport in Bundaberg or Gladstone, preferably a 4xWD or SUV so that you can explore the surrounding national parks. The nearest town is approximately 6 kms away so transport is essential. If you would like to arrange an airport pick-up for late arrivals in your group, or a mini-bus to take you to dinner and back, please contact our caretakers who can arrange this for you.

Can we bring additional guests at short notice?

Alinghi sleeps a maximum of 8 in the Main Pavilion and an additional 2 if you have rented the Master Bedroom Pavilion. This is the MAXIMUM the property can sleep. You will need to advise us of any changes to group numbers well in advance so that we can set up the house accordingly. Due to its remote location, it can sometimes be difficult to arrange additional cleaning and set up at short notice, so all accommodation must be booked well in advance.

How do I get in to the Secure Gated Estate on arrival?

Please call our caretakers at least 48 hrs in advance to advise them of an estimated arrival time. They will give you a temporary passcode for the gate and meet you at the property on arrival. All keys, remote controls and property details will be handed over on check-in.

What happens on arrival?

Our Caretakers will meet you at the property on arrival and brief you on the property and estate. They will hand over keys, remote controls etc.

What do I do when I am leaving?

Check-out is no later than 10am on your date of departure. Please advise our caretakers of an estimated departure time. They will meet you at the property at a pre-arranged time half an hour prior to your departure to allow you to check out. If you have any breakages or other items to report please do this on check-out.

What should I do if I encounter problems during my stay?

Our caretakers are resident on the estate and whilst they are very happy to help with general advice, they are not on call 24/7. They will hand over all details on arrival and then leave you to enjoy your holiday. Of course, in an emergency do not hesitate to contact them.
